The best European Cruises are the ones that best suit your needs, offer you quality service and are affordable. There are many European cruises of which to take advantage. They all have something special and unique to offer so it is just a matter of what you find the most appealing. Remember that a cruise is a two-part vacation. There is the time that you are going to spend a board the cruise ship. This should be a most enjoyable part of the vacation. This is where you get to enjoy the many amenities that you are paying for and there should be a variety. Meaning there should be some activity time as well as leisure time.

When it comes to the destination aspect of the cruise there is no doubt it plays a very important part of the trip. After all, much of what you get aboard the cruise ship can be had from a luxury Hotel. You just are not on the water in this case.

What you expect from the destinations should be dependant on where you have chose to go. Again, one cannot define the best because there are so many spectacular ports of call in Europe. There are spots that seem to be favoured by the majority of cruise buffs.

Rome is a favoured spot. The cuisine that is found here is one of the enticing aspects of being here. Where is there a better spot to find real genuine Italian pizza and pasta then the homeland? Then of course who wants to pass up seeing at least a few of the famous monuments, that one reads about in the History books. Reading about them is one thing but seeing them is a completely new world. Then to top it off a must is a tour to St Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. It would be almost unheard of not to visit the Vatican City when in Rome.

The Barcelona is a well know tourist attraction and makes up a part of the best European cruises. This has the making for a lazy day atmosphere where you could even sneak in an afternoon siesta at the quaint fishing village of Barceloneta. A highlight of this visit is to be able to enjoy an exquisite glass of wine at one of the many outdoor cafes.

Now who could or would want to pass up a glimpse of Venice. It is going to be the highlight of the accounting you give back home when you talk about the waterbus excursion you have to enjoy. One more important stop while in Venus is San Marco square. Get there early though, especially in the summer months, as it is a famed tourist spot.

Then there is Paris, which is just a natural part of a European tour. Very few individuals want to forfeit seeing Paris. Then for those that have been there once or twice they may be able to be convinced to spend more time in another area. There are just so many places to see and enjoy on the European cruises.

When one thinks about a cruise, there are two major thoughts that come to mind. One is having a great time aboard a ship and the second the magical destination where they are going to end up. This is true as being the major part of a cruise however, when it comes time to planning one it’s not quite so simple.

First, you need to decide what kind of cruise you want to go on is it going to be a Caribbean or European cruise? Should you decide on one of the European cruises then you can rest assured that you are in for a wonderful adventuresome holiday. Now you have decided on the type of cruise which European cruise will it be? What parts of Europe do you want to see?

After the destination decision, the next is to start looking at different cruise packages that are available for that particular location. Here you are going to find a variety of different aspects. The length of the cruises will vary. The sizes of the cruise ships will differ. The prices of the packages will depend on these to factors as well as on any special features you decide to add into your package.

Now you will have to make your final decision on which cruise to book. Once you have decided your budget and time, it is a matter of choosing your favorite.

Then in will be time to pack. Here you will want to prepare a list. There are so many miscellaneous items to remember that you will not want to forget anything. With a checklist that is not as likely to happen.

You will need to arrange for transportation to the cruise ship as well. Do not leave that job until the last minute. You want to give yourself plenty of time to board.

Once you have got to that point more than likely while planning your first cruise you are also going to want to include what activities you will want to take part of while on the ship. Most often, everything is inclusive but you may want to add some extras. If possible, do this when you are making your travel arrangements to avoid disappointment of not being able to do it once you are onboard.

There are a few things you can do to help plan your first cruise. It is very important that you find a good travel agent. They are the ones that can get you the best packages at the best prices. They also know which cruise companies are the most reputable.

Ask friends and family who have been on a cruise for any hints or suggestions. They may have experienced a great cruise. You may want to consider it. This will give you a fair idea of what to expect and what you are going to get for your money.

Either way take your time and do your research because after all it is your vacation time.
