Once you have determined you are going to go on a cruise then the excitement begins and especially if it is European cruise. There are many things that you need to take care of and starting with a "to do" list will save you many frustrating moments. There are several things you need to consider. Naturally, you are going to make all of your cruise arrangements. You need to get this all in order so you will know what port you are going to be departing.

If the location you are leaving from is not close to you then you have to think about making the journey to get here. Let us say for example you live in Canada but your cruise is leaving from the USA. Then you must be able to coordinate all your travel times. Ideally, you will want to be near your cruise ship the day before. This means booking your air flight plus one night accommodation. Do not forget it will be the same for coming home. You will need to shop around for some good deals in this area.

Then you need to consider if you will require accommodation from your hotel to the cruise ship. If you have decided to stay out at the airport where you landed, it may not be very close to where the ship is departing. You may want to arrange for a taxi service or limo service in advance.

Do yourself a favor and give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your perspective destinations. Always take into account the unforeseen. For example, if there is bad weather be sure and get to the airport early. If you are checking out of the Hotel, give you self-extra time in case they are busy. You want to have enough time before you board to be sure you have everything and you are not rushing so as not to miss the ship.

It may seem like a lot of extra work to arrive a day early and maybe a little more expense then you wanted. No one enjoys starting a holiday all flustered and irritated so this plan will help prevent this.

Now in the case where you will be setting out on your cruise from within the same city, you will not have quite as many arrangements to make. However, you will have to plan travel from home to the dock. Either do this through a reliable family member or friend or order a limo service. If you have reliable taxi services in your area then you may want to consider them as well. Remember to double check that you have everything just before you start. Your money, tickets and luggage. It is so exciting just planning and thinking about a cruise that you may overlook at all the activities that you are going to have before you. Often the attention centers on what happens when you arrive at your various destinations. If you have been on a cruise before then you will know that being on the ship is a very important part of the entire vacation. For those that hav e not cruised before then you are in for some wonderful surprises especially on the European cruises.

The itinerary for the ship will depend on the length of your cruise and how many stopovers you will be making. Most of the entertainment activity will take place on board the ship as you are traveling to your first destination.

For entertainment, you may find that there is a formal dinner with the captain followed by a wonderful evening of dancing to the music of a live orchestra. You will feel like you are at a Royal Ball. It will surely be a night to remember. Perhaps the next evening will be dinner and a theatre. Here you will enjoy a wonderful meal along with a comedy or murder mystery stage show. Then there may be even other forms of stage entertainment or theme nights and there may be on board movie theaters. You will actually forget that you are onboard a ship.

Aside from the entertainment, aspect there will be the amenities that you can use to your advantage. There are various types of spas on board the cruise ships. You can treat yourself to a facial or any other type of beauty treatment you desire. Do not forget to take advantage of the great massages that may be available.

If you like, something a little more active then no doubt you will find many other people that would love to join you in a bout of tennis. For a little bit of a more relaxing venue a candlelit dinner in the lounge would be appropriate.

Then do not forget there will be some great exercise programs to take advantage of in the gym or at the pool.

So with so much to choose from how does one decide what to participate in? Easy, do what you feel like doing. It is your vacation and time to have fun and relax or let your hair down and party. The European cruises are specifically designed to let you do all of these things. That is what makes a cruise so special. Every day is a holiday.

There is no doubt that cruises can be a bit pricey but when you weight out that you get for the money they are well worth every penny you have spent. If you are to compare it with other vacations, you will soon see in the end that they are very comparable. The ideal plan is not to tire yourself out but to enjoy as much as what they have to offer as to what you feel comfortable with.
