How to Get Luxury Cruises On a Discount

Author: Almost everybody would love to go on a cruise at least once in a lifetime, if not more. At one time, this was a dream that only the very rich could afford but that is not the case anymore. That does not mean that a European cruise is now cheap. But with the great interest there is now in taking a cruise, it does mean that you can get some great discounts for some of the best European cruises. This makes it affordable for a lot more people.
It does mean doing some budget shopping though. There are some great deals to take advantage of, you just need to know where to go to find them. To begin with, research some of the many discount cruise offers that are on the internet. Like anything, there is good and bad and you want to be sure you are dealing with a reputable travel agent or cruise company. There are companies that specialize in just cruise planning. They will do all the work for you, shopping around to find you the best bargain deals. They do a great job at coming up with some great European cruise deals especially. Usually those specialized companies deal with all cruise lines so they do not take a particular liking to one. They simply go after the best deals.
If you do no
t want to go through one of these types of companies there are a few things you can do yourself to get some good discounts. First, if you have good flexibility in your time as to when you can go, then this is a bonus. Wait as long as you can before booking your cruise. You will often get discount rates because the cruise has not been booked to capacity and naturally, they want their cabins filled so they will make last minute deals.
The other thing you want to keep in mind is where the cruise is leaving. If you have to fly to your departure location then of course you are putting out more money, then at the same time you can get some good air deals as well.
Compare prices and the cruises. You may find a cruise that is a lot less expensive than the one you were first considering. What is this cruise offering though? For example, it may be for half the time, or does not include half of what the first one does. Therefore, in reality you are not getting any kind of great deal. Again, as we said make sure you are dealing with a reputable travel agent or cruise line.
Taking a European cruise in the off-season is another great way of getting a luxury cruise on a discount. Europe is every bit as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer, so you really would not be missing anything.
Watch for promotions at the various cruise lines. Quite often they will run an introductory special if they are launching a new cruise ship or adding new destinations to their packages.

What Is an All Inclusive Cruise Deal?
Just as the name implies it means the cost of the cruise just about covers everything. This includes your food, drinks, entertainment and of course the cruise itself with your accommodation. Although this sounds fantastic and is, there are some pros and cons to it. There may be a lot of things in a all inclusive cruise package that you would not take advantage of therefore it really wouldn’t be worth the money you would spend on it. This is something you would have to consider carefully.
Make sure you read everything carefully. Your drinks may be included but that does not mean the alcoholic beverages are. Some packages only include the alcoholic beverages with meals. Most often snacks and in between meals are not covered. It is very likely that entertainment will be included then again not all of it will be.
Most all-inclusive packages are a great deal. You have to be sure to research them carefully though. Sometimes a Company will advertise an all-exclusive package but when you take, a close look there is not much to it. They will offer you all these optional things to add to it and before you know it your budget cruise as now become a fortune. That is not something that commonly happens though.
When you look through the all-inclusive package make sure that the things it contains is really, what will be of advantage to you. If they offer five different entertainment venues and only one of them is appealing, then that is not beneficial to you. Alternatively, perhaps they offer different beauty packages and that is not for you. Again, it is not an advantage to you. Then they may have a sports package such as tennis. Well if you do not play tennis, it is not much good either. In a case like this, you would probably be better off with finding a non-inclusive package at a cheaper rate.
In the end, it means shopping around and doing the proper research and to read over carefully any information that is available. You want to be sure that you are dealing with a reputable company. Try to deal with a company that has been recommended to you.
Another thing you may want to consider is also that all inclusive cruise deals offered for the off-season can mean some terrific deals. Therefore, if you are on a budget then you really may want to consider this. A winter European cruise can be beautiful and every bit as exciting as the in season ones. In addition, you do not have the large tourist crowds to deal with either.
You have a few options available to you. Give yourself plenty of time to find the best deals and make your decisions. You can even contact some of the travel agents and see if they have any great all inclusive cruise deals coming on.
