A Special Trip To Rome

To describe all the architectural beauties of Rome, probably a week wouldn’t be enough. Rome is full of history, it was founded back to 753 b. C. and it carried out a leading role for Italy but also for Europe during its almost three thousand years of history (first settlements date back to 10th century b. C.).

A tour of the city, even if just for a few days, isn’t complete without visiting the ‘Fontana di Trevi’, ‘Piazza di Spagna’, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and so on, just to say the first names that come to mind, but we could go on for hours. Also Roman cuisine is famous worldwide, tourists come from all over the world not just for its architectural beauties, but especially to try some typical dishes of roman tradition. Who wants to enjoy some typical flavors really has a lot of choices, like the abbacchio, spaghetti all’amatriciana, carbonara, coda alla vaccinara.

There are plenty of restaurants where you can taste these delicacies and you will really be spoilt by choice.

As it often happens in Latin countries, in Rome dinner time is quite late, so also nightlife starts later and often goes on for the whole night.

What you absolutely must do is at least one dinner in one typical roman tavern, where from the wine to the very good and cheap food, to the happy and friendly environment, you will try the real feeling of living in the roman capital.
In Rome there is a wide choice of hotels, b&b, hostels, rooms for rent in convents. Therefore there is a wide range of accommodation solutions to suit every budget, you just have to choose the area where you want to spend the night and then finding and booking your favorite accommodation, thank to the online booking system that almost all the accommodation structures now offer to the tourist.
The choice of the city area is very personal, according to the kind of journey you are planning to do. For example, people who love nightlife should stay in the area of Trastevere, the core de’ Roma (the heart of Rome), with all the restaurants and clubs that are open until very late in the night. For who wants to reach the places to see without losing time, the ideal thing is to book a hotel near Termini station.

To move around the city, the advice is to use public transportations, the metro and all the bus lines cover the whole city territory, besides there are some types of season tickets that last some days or one week and are very useful, this way you just have to obliterate the ticket once and then you can jump on every kind of public transportations.
Rome can be the ideal destination for a few days journey, for an historic trip but also for a romantic week-end, with all its characteristic views, or also for a week-end at the discovery of the traditional flavors, with all its taverns where you can taste delicacies at very reasonable prices.

There is virtually no one that would want to go to France and not see some of the many sites this country has to offer. The shore excursions offered here are in much demand. If you are not partaking in one with your cruise line, then you may opt to choose one from the private Companies that offer them. There are some things that you will want to check out first.

1. Make sure to check with the company that they are prepared for tours at your landing site as well as lining up the times of arrival and return. You do not want to be on a tour and get halfway through then realize you have to be back to the ship.
2. Ensure that the highlights are points of interest to you. There is no point in going on a tour to find that you are not interested in the majority of what it includes.

One of the most famous places in France is the French Riviera. A tour here demands a full day. A tour such as this would begin with a magnificent view that is present along the Moyenne Corniche. The excitement would begin at the top of the mountain. From here, you can see a panoramic view of the coast. You would be visiting an exquisite medieval village of Eze. While here, you must take in everything that is offered such as a famous glass workshop and a branch of the Fragonard Perfumerie. You may even want to pick up a souvenir or two after all France is famous for its perfume. To afford you the beauty of this country you would move to a 1st century Roman Village called the terrace of Monaco. Next stop may be the Trophy of the Alps.

We could continue and tell you more of the various sights and wonders that you would see on this wonderful day tour but that would ruin the intrigue of what awaits you. If the Rivera is not one of your main choices then not to worry for they are many other tours available to you. Just remember if you are choosing a full day tour then it is not stop activity, you are no doubt going to sleep well after this day outing. It will be well worth the money, time and effort that you put into though.
