When one thinks about a cruise, there are two major thoughts that come to mind. One is having a great time aboard a ship and the second the magical destination where they are going to end up. This is true as being the major part of a cruise however, when it comes time to planning one it’s not quite so simple.

First, you need to decide what kind of cruise you want to go on is it going to be a Caribbean or European cruise? Should you decide on one of the European cruises then you can rest assured that you are in for a wonderful adventuresome holiday. Now you have decided on the type of cruise which European cruise will it be? What parts of Europe do you want to see?

After the destination decision, the next is to start looking at different cruise packages that are available for that particular location. Here you are going to find a variety of different aspects. The length of the cruises will vary. The sizes of the cruise ships will differ. The prices of the packages will depend on these to factors as well as on any special features you decide to add into your package.

Now you will have to make your final decision on which cruise to book. Once you have decided your budget and time, it is a matter of choosing your favorite.

Then in will be time to pack. Here you will want to prepare a list. There are so many miscellaneous items to remember that you will not want to forget anything. With a checklist that is not as likely to happen.

You will need to arrange for transportation to the cruise ship as well. Do not leave that job until the last minute. You want to give yourself plenty of time to board.

Once you have got to that point more than likely while planning your first cruise you are also going to want to include what activities you will want to take part of while on the ship. Most often, everything is inclusive but you may want to add some extras. If possible, do this when you are making your travel arrangements to avoid disappointment of not being able to do it once you are onboard.

 There are a few things you can do to help plan your first cruise. It is very important that you find a good travel agent. They are the ones that can get you the best packages at the best prices. They also know which cruise companies are the most reputable.

Ask friends and family who have been on a cruise for any hints or suggestions. They may have experienced a great cruise. You may want to consider it. This will give you a fair idea of what to expect and what you are going to get for your money.

Either way take your time and do your research because after all it is your vacation time.
