To describe all the architectural beauties of Rome, probably a week wouldn’t be enough. Rome is full of history, it was founded back to 753 b. There are plenty of restaurants where you can taste these delicacies and you will really be spoilt by choice.

As it often happens in Latin countries, in Rome dinner time is quite late, so also nightlife starts later and often goes on for the whole night.

What you absolutely must do is at least one dinner in one typical roman tavern, where from the wine to the very good and cheap food, to the happy and friendly environment, you will try the real feeling of living in the roman capital.
In Rome there is a wide choice of hotels, b&b, hostels, rooms for rent in convents. Therefore there is a wide range of accommodation solutions to suit every budget, you just have to choose the area where you want to spend the night and then finding and booking your favorite accommodation, thank to the online booking system that almost all the accommodation structures now offer to the tourist.
The choice of the city area is very personal, according to the kind of journey you are planning to do. For example, people who love nightlife should stay in the area of Trastevere, the core de’ Roma (the heart of Rome), with all the restaurants and clubs that are open until very late in the night. For who wants to reach the places to see without losing time, the ideal thing is to book a hotel near Termini station.

To move around the city, the advice is to use public transportations, the metro and all the bus lines cover the whole city territory, besides there are some types of season tickets that last some days or one week and are very useful, this way you just have to obliterate the ticket once and then you can jump on every kind of public transportations.
Rome can be the ideal destination for a few days journey, for an historic trip but also for a romantic week-end, with all its characteristic views, or also for a week-end at the discovery of the traditional flavors, with all its taverns where you can taste delicacies at very reasonable prices.

You have decided on a cruise to Italy, you have chosen your cruise line now you must contemplate what shore excursions your want to take advantage of. For those who are found of majestic old churches the Frari Church and The Sculoa di San Rocco would be significant to you. The list could just go on and on for Venus. There is just so much to see that it would be impossible to get it all in with one tour.

The same applies for other ports in Italy. It will be difficult for you to decide your favorites because there is just so much to see and do, and not enough time to do it all. Then there is always next time, because no doubt you will want to cruise Europe again and who knows maybe return to Italy.

The important thing to remember is to research your destinations and take your time in planning your sight seeing tours. If possible, at least try to go on one shore excursion, as its part of what makes up the excitement of being on a cruise.
